PTEL2R Overview

The APC is a field-replaceable surge protection module designed to protect analog telephone and low-speed data lines from damaging electrical surges, spikes, and transients in rack-mounted IT and telecommunications environments. Engineered to fit into compatible APC ProtectNet modular chassis like the PRM24 or PRM4, this 1U rack-mount form factor module safeguards up to two analog lines (via RJ-11 or RJ-45 interfaces) commonly used for phone, fax, modem, or DSL connections, helping prevent costly downtime or equipment damage from power irregularities on those circuits. Its robust protection includes a fast ~1 ns response time and substantial surge current handling (up to about 250 A common mode and 200 A normal mode), providing reliable suppression of transient events.
