CRAFT-MX240-S Overview

The Juniper CRAFT‑MX240‑S is a front‑panel craft interface or blanking panel assembly designed as a spare or replacement component for the Juniper MX240 Universal Routing Platform chassis. On the MX240, the craft interface provides status LEDs, system control functions, and visual indicators of router health and alarms; if the router is shipped without this interface installed or needs a replacement, the CRAFT‑MX240‑S panel fills that space on the front of the chassis while ensuring proper coverage and accessibility for diagnostic and management interfaces. Additionally, blank panels (or craft panels when no active module is present) help shield empty slots and maintain proper cooling airflow within the router chassis by preventing air recirculation through unused openings, which supports thermal performance and hardware reliability.
